Denis and Didier Berthollier
Denis and Didier Berthollier are the two brothers at the helm of the estate of the same name, located in the heart of the Savoyard countryside of Chignin. We have to go back to 1850 to find the first traces of the family business, with a few vines and the first farmhouse. At that time, the vines were grown for the family's own consumption and the rest was sold to the bistros of Chambéry in good years. There have been many changes over the decades, with a major turning point in 1970, when Denis and Didier's parents gave up mixed farming to devote themselves exclusively to wine. With the arrival of the two brothers on the estate in 1995 and 1998, the changes continued, leading to a high quality production: cultivation of steeper plots, conversion to organic and then biodynamic farming, refinement of the plots, vinification without sulphur... Today, the duo offers us wines that are always straightforward and delicious, reflecting the purity of their environment and the excellence of their path.
A few words from the estate: "Fruity nose of peach, toasted almond, butter and soft spices. Fine, chiselled mouthfeel, tonic, fruity sparkle, warm, mineral, taut finish."
This cuvée crafted for gastronomy offers us a superb balance, combining the roundness and complexity of the clay soils with the freshness and minerality of schists.
A tribute to Marius, the grandpa of Denis and Didier! Beautiful balance combining the finesse and red fruit of Pinot Noir with the rustic, mineral naturalness of Gamay. Fresh, digestible, crisp and slightly tannic on the palate.
A Savoyard wine in essence, tannic and slightly spicy, developing notes of black fruit, blackcurrant and blackberry. Still young and resolutely fruity, time will allow the notes of undergrowth and the roundness of the tannins to develop.
Round and luscious on the nose, with notes of candied fruit and dried apricot. Hyper-balanced palate, with beautiful depth and a noble fat profile, counterbalanced by the freshness of the climate.
We've fallen head over heels for this extremely elegant cuvée, with a nose marked by minerality and a gourmet framework of candied fruit. Powerful, deep and highly aromatic on the palate, this minerality is complemented by smoky notes, and the finish is long and... saline!
Powerful nose, combining honeyed, exotic and tertiary notes, developing undergrowth after two or three years of cellaring. Full-bodied and opulent on the palate, but without any heaviness, built around candied fruit aromas, with a refreshingly exotic finish.
A Mondeuse for laying down, with a beautiful spiced nose of black fruits. The palate is still young, but will develop a beautiful structure and spicy aromas, with a finely astringent finish. Worth decanting, ideally one hour before tasting.
An indigenous grape variety of the Maurienne Valley that had almost disappeared, it is now firmly established as one of the essential indigenous varieties of Savoie. We love its duality, between blackcurrant and redcurrant, and its complex structure make it a wine to be laid down.
Notes of yellow peach, apricot, mirabelle plum, honey, lychee... A complex cuvée balanced by a beautiful freshness, it's an addictive delicacy with 96 grams of residual sugar/liter. Try it with a cheese platter, the pairing does wonders with blue cheeses! 50 cl bottle.

Notes of pear, white peach, mineral structure and white flowers. Straightforward on the palate, with a nicely rounded finish. A fresh wine to be drunk young, a no-fuss bottle to open and add glitter to your everyday life!
