Pierre Weber
Pierre Weber took over his grandfather's vines in 2020, on the very day the lockdown was announced. Flashback: son of an oenologist and grandson of a winemaker, Pierre was never drawn to the wine world, which seemed full of complications. After studying energy and urban planning, he spent five years developing Paris' Climate Plan. He wanted to make a difference but craved something more tangible. Searching for answers, he set off on a road trip along the Silk Road in his van. A few thousand kilometers later, his decision was clear: it was time to return to the land and his Alsatian roots. In 2019, Pierre began his agricultural training at Rouffach, interning with Valentin Zusslin and then Jérôme François from La Grande de l’Oncle Charles, who became a close friend. Today, Pierre tends three hectares in Husseren-les-Châteaux and on the Grand Cru Eichberg, all cultivated biodynamically. Natural wines, often with no added sulfites, and always delicious.
