Probably the best compromise between fruit and structure, on notes of black fruits (blackberry and plum) warmed up by a hint of vanilla, cedar wood, cacao and long pepper. Palate: seriously rich and tannic, yet with great freshness on the finish!
Fabien Jouves
Fabien Jouves represents the golden generation of Cahors. This young and dynamic vigneron settled in 2006 on the highest slopes of Cahors, where he took over his family’s estate of 20 hectares. Fabien, with his Prince Harry-like air about him, is the pretender to the throne in the Realm of Malbec, not to forget the winning-award for his mullet! His estate is certified organic by Ecocert and biodynamic by Demeter. His vinifications are natural, and his wines are from now on, most of the time without sulfur. Fabien earned himself a sterling reputation for his single-vineyard Cahors cuvées, which highlight his sensitivity and respect for each climat and terroir, but he has also become loved for his easy-drinking, thirst-quenching cuvées with such whimsical names as "You Fuck My Wine", "Tu Vin Plus Aux Soirées" etc... labels which have certainly helped generate buzz. But if some of his labels are laughable, his wines are very serious indeed.
A concentrated nose carried by notes of black fruits and violet. Silky palate, spicy with a nice length, a great Cahors "outside the box", highly digestible, 100% pleasure!
Nose carried by notes of crushed strawberry, black berries, and soft spices. Palate in perfect harmony with the nose, it's silky, with lots of roundness, nice volume, fine and powdery tannins, mineral structure, incredibly elegant mouthfeel, very long finish with a hint of blackcurrant.
A wine with a Rhône sensation on the nose and like the Southwest on the palate! An experiment that has proven a great success, this is a beautifully crafted négociant cuvée! With notes of blackberry and cherry, this is rich juice with sweet tannins and beautiful length.
SM for Syrah Malbec, of course—what else were you thinking?! Smooth, fruity, with blackberry notes and velvety tannins. A wine made by friends, meant to be shared with friends. It all comes full circle!
Concentrated nose carried by notes of plum, blueberry, jammy blackberry, fig, sage, just a hint of vanilla... The palate is surprisingly very fresh and digestible, almost juicy (for a Cahors!), long and floral finish.
One of our favorite cuvées during tasting especially on the 2024 vintage, it's a super aromatic natural sparkling wine. Nose carried by notes of exotic fruits and citrus fruits, lovely floral bouquet. Lively bubbles and nice length, to be served chilled whenever it feels like summer.
One of our great favorites during the tasting: a cheerful juice, on redcurrant and spices, solar but only 9.5% alcohol, a slender, silky fruit, the palate is super elegant, long and floral finish. Open one hour before tasting.
