Autessiodorum - 2018 - Edouard Lepesme
Le Domaine d'Edouard
Autessiodorum is the Gallo-Roman name of the city of Auxerre, a nod to Cesar, since the Romans are said to have brought this grape variety with them from Italy. An original wine with character, pinot-like, rustic in its youth, with hints of red fruit and undergrowth.

100% Cesar, a grape variety typical of the Yonne Valley. The 30-year-old vines are grown organically, planted on a 25-acre plot of clay-limestone soils. Bottled on the estate, without fining or filtration, with sensible use of sulfites. Two years of bottle ageing in the Domaine's cellars.
