Nuits Saint Georges Vieilles Vignes - 2018 - Morgan et Julie Truchetet
Domaine Truchetet
A very fruity nose, with notes of blackberry compote and a hint of sweet spices. The palate is dense and complex, with beautiful tannic structure (perfect for food pairings), very enticing length, and a fruity, mineralesque finish.

A 100% Pinot Noir cuvée from old vines farmed organically and planted around the estate in 1928 on a plot of 44 ares, in the commune of Premeaux Prissey. The vines grow very high in this parcel, with the trellising raised to reach 1.8 meters. The vineyard is horse ploughed and has natural grassing between the vines. The grapes are harvested by hand, with careful sorting in the vineyard and in the cellar. Vinification: 15 days of cold maceration, gentle pressing, and transfer by gravity into barrels (25% new oak) for 12 months of maturation then an additional five months in vats. Bottled in February 2020.
