Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru "Les Vergelesses" - 2020 - François de Nicolay
Domaine Chandon de Briailles
A rich nose with notes of red and black fruits: blackberry, blackcurrant, leather, undergrowth... Palate: balanced, mellow, with beautiful finesse, and very lovely length on the palate. One of our great favourites, a wine which will express itself even better after a few years in the cellar.

Pinot Noir made from 60-year-old vines farmed biodynamically and planted on clay-limestone soils, in the lower part of the Vergelesses, on the lower part of the slope. Vinification is respectful of the grapes: two weeks of maceration of whole bunches in concrete and conical wooden vats, 18 months of maturation on the lees in 228-litre oak barrels. Bottled without fining or filtration, no sulfite added.
