Pinot Noir from biodynamically managed vines planted on "Les Taillepieds", a plot of 1.51 ha. This Climate embodies the elite of Volnay today, the vines are in the middle of the hillside, South-East facing, light brown clay and gravel soils, the slope of the Climate is one of the steepest in the village. Vinification: 15 days of maceration in whole bunches and maturing in barrels, 35% of which are new. The wine is neither fined nor filtered, sulphur is used to protect the wine. Bottled at the estate during the waning moon.

Etienne de Montille personifies the Domaine de Montille, the celebrated estate in Volnay whose origins date back to the 1750s. The renown of the family name is of course due to Hubert de Montille, Etienne’s father, who rebuilt the estate from scratch starting in 1947, the vintage in which he first understood that he would only produce wines he loved “and not those of others”.
