Hors Série Grand Cru - 2019 - Alexandre Chartogne

Champagne Chartogne-Taillet

We've fallen head over heels for this rare bottle, which will age effortlessly in your cellar, before revealing its notes of exotic fruits, apricot, iodine and a hint of pastry... The palate is highly mineral, saline and deep, with a lush, ample and generous texture.

100% Chardonnay from vines planted in Avize and in Oger, between 1927 and 1986, on a Grand Cru terroir in the Côte des Blancs. This is the first cuvée from this Champagne terroir, a wish of Alexandre's, who wanted to vinify these chalky soils. The soil is ploughed with a horse, and the grapes are harvested by hand. Vinification and aging in barrels, bottled in July 2020, aged on laths, disgorged in July 2024 with a dosage of 2 grams per liter, this is an extra-brut Champagne. No filtration.
