100% Pinot Noir from vines planted in 1970 on the Oriseaux parcel (yes, with an “s!”) in the village of Merfy, with both south and north-facing exposures. Deep sandy soils, sometimes reaching two meters, with limestone and chalk subsoils. Direct press, vinified in 228L Burgundy barrels that have seen two to nine wines, without stirring of the lees, bottled in July 2020, aged on laths, disgorged in March 2024. Dosage at 1.15g/l, it's an extra-brut. Unfiltered.

Alexandre Chartogne is at the head of the Maison de Champagne Chartogne-Taillet, whose traces of winemakers in the family date back to 1490 with Nicolas Taillet and then Fiacre Tailler in 1540.
