A blended cuvée of Nielluccio and Syrah from biodynamically-grown vines planted on a clay-granitic terroir facing south and northwest, with a warm, windy climate and a wide temperature range between day and night. Vinification: direct pressing of the whole bunches, light settling, spontaneous start of fermentation, separate vinification for each grape variety and plot, with three weeks of fermentation before blending. 6 to 9 months of ageing on fine lees in stainless steel vats before bottling.
Yves Canarelli
Yves Canarelli took over his grandfather’s vines in 1993. In 20 years, he has shifted his viticulture over to biodynamics, and reintroduced ancient grape varietals like Cargaghjolu Nero, which nearly went extinct in the 1960s.
