A blended cuvée of grape varieties endemic to Corsica: Niellucio and Carcaghjolu Neru, from biodynamically-grown vines planted on clay-granitic soils with southern and north-western exposure. Harvested by hand. Vinification: destemming, a few crushing of the marc cap, daily pumping-over, each plot is vinified separately before gentle pressing in a pneumatic press. Aged for 12 months in casks and barrels that have seen several wines. Bottled on the estate without fining or filtration.
Yves Canarelli
Yves Canarelli took over his grandfather’s vines in 1993. In 20 years, he has shifted his viticulture over to biodynamics, and reintroduced ancient grape varietals like Cargaghjolu Nero, which nearly went extinct in the 1960s.
