A wine we’ll never forget… the nose is absolute perfume, very concentrated with precise notes of red fruit, yet also boasting toasty, herbaceous and spicy aromas. The palate is structured and juicy, and the tannins are still tight – cellar this a few years, your patience will be rewarded!
100% Pinot Noir, from 20-year-old vines planted at the Trarbacher Schlossberg vineyard, an exceptional terroir if ever there was one (rated three stars!). The plot has slate soils, with abundant stones, and is located on an extremely steep slope. The harvesting is done by hand, with rigorous sorting. Vinification: the grapes macerate for four weeks, followed by slow fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and maturation in French oak barrels for 18 months. Bottled on the estate without fining or filtration.
