A Hum Pinot Gris - 2017 - Eishi Okamoto

Beau Paysage

An orange wine with a powerful nose, structured around notes of lychee, passion fruit, mango, yellow peach, honey, and candied orange. Fruity and tannic on the palate, with great volume that supports this complex aromatic profile. Long finish with a sensation of Earl Grey tea.

100% Pinot Gris from vines free from chemicals and with soil left unploughed to safeguard its microbial life, adhering to Masanobu Fukuoka’s “natural farming” principles. Despite the hot, humid climate, the parcel in Nirasaki, facing Mount Fuji, receives no treatments, requiring Eishi’s full dedication. Hand-harvested, naturally vinified with zero sulfur, and crafted with ceremonial precision: gentle maceration in stainless steel, followed by long barrel aging. Only 305 bottles produced.
