Jura
Chardonnay "Au fil des générations" - 2021 - Tony Bornard
Domaine Bornard
A nose of beautiful complexity, with notes of quince, citron, honey and almond in the shell. The palate is rich and fleshy, with wonderful volume, and a long finish with a hint of brioche.

The estate lost a lot of its grapes during the 2021 vintage... To make a single Chardonnay wine would require blending the remaining grapes from every parcel of Chardonnay farmed by the estate. Thus, this one cuvée is the product of vines planted by four generations of the same family. Obviously, the yields were miniscule. The grapes were picked by hand, direct pressed, matured in barrels, and bottled without fining, filtration or any addition of sulphur.
Tony Bornard
Tony Bornard is the son of the famous Jura figurehead Philippe Bornard , today retired. They are neighbours of the famous Pierre Overnoy, andhey reside in the oldest building in the village of Pupillin. Tony struck out on his own to quietly create his estate as well in 2013. He then took over the family estate from his father in 2017, merging it together with the estate he’d personally...
