Languedoc
Blanc - 2020 - Didier Barral
Domaine Léon Barral
An ‘orange’ wine (or ‘skin contact’ if you prefer) with a nose of citrus fruits, peach, and almond... Palate: powerful, with again flavours of peach and apricot, plus notes of garrigue, and huge minerality.

A blended cuvée: 80% Terret, 10% Viognier and 10% Roussanne, grown on schist soils. Didier’s green capital is entirely managed by his cows, the winegrower’s other great passion, and chemicals haven’t touched his vines for more than 30 years. The estate is certified organic and biodynamic. The grapes are harvested by hand with small crates. Vinification: slow pressing in an old vertical press, no settling, fermentation in concrete vats, and maturation for 8 months in vats followed by 12 months in old barrels. Only a microdose of sulphur at bottling.
