Valinière - 2019 - Didier Barral
Domaine Léon Barral
A cult cuvée of red fruits and spices, with toasted and roasted notes... Palate: very rich and powerful, extremely mineral. Waiting for it 3-4 years would be wise.

A blended cuvée: 85% Mourvèdre and 15% Syrah, from vines grown biodynamically (and no chemicals have touches the vines for 30 years!), planted on steep schist slopes. Grapes are harvested by hand in small crates, with low yields. Natural vinification: maceration for 3 to 4 weeks, pressing in an old vertical wooden press, maturation for 3 years in barrels, with 10% new oak. Micro-dose of sulphur at bottling.
