On the first sip, the attack is silky smooth. By the mid-palate, it’s all about volume and complexity, power and delicacy. Bright fruit with flavours of small, very ripe black fruits, intense notes of blackberry, of blue flowers, violets and delicate notes of spice. Long finish.

100% Pinot Noir from vines grown biodynamically, planted on a 0,47 hectare. The subsoil of this terroir is gneiss and orthogneiss, South-West exposure. Manual harvest, yields around 25 hl/ha, whole bunches, reception of harvest by gravity. Natural vinification without additives: 10 days of maceration in whole clusters, 10 months of aging in amphorae. Unfined, unfiltered, bottled at the Estate without added sulphur.

Fred bought Domaine de l'Écu in 2010, with its perfect soils cultivated organically since 1972, then certified biodynamic by DEMETER in 1998. He’s been collaborating with Guy Bossard since 2014, the master of Muscadet. The pairing is simply miraculous. Fred, a novice at winegrowing but an unparalleled taster, knows exactly what he wants and what he intends to do for wine in the Muscadet....
