Chardonnay with opulence on citrus notes... Palate: rich, indulgent juice, with a profile that’s neither classic nor boring. Ludovic is all about precision with his Chenins, but with other varieties, it’s about striking the right balance with plenty of indulgence!
100% Chardonnay from 60-year-old vines farmed organically and planted in Montlouis-sur-Loire on predominantly clay soils. Hand-harvested. Vinification: direct pressing, then transfer of the juices into barrels, for fermentation and one year of aging in barrels that have seen several wines, blending of the barrels and 6 months of refining in stainless steel tanks. Bottled at the estate in May 2024 without fining or filtration, just a micro-dose of sulfur.
Ludovic Chanson, from his first bottles released as a young upstart winemaker, has been proving himself year in year out in Montlouis. Entering the wine world in 2009, having left a career in pharmaceutical research, this scientist was bitten by the vine bug during time spent with Vincent Carême and Damien Délécheneau (of the Domaine La Grange Tiphaine).
