90% Cabernet Franc from 92-year-old vines, co-planted with 10% Grolleau, Baco, Chardonnay, Chenin, Côt etc. on a 25-acre plot in Saint-Saturnin-sur-Loire. Natural vinification: direct pressing of all grape varieties, starting of fermentation in vats. Bottled with residual sugars to create the effervescence in bottle, aged on laths, disgorged during Summer 2024. Unfined, unfiltered, zero added sulphur.
Olivier Le Beau
Olivier Le Beau, a child from the 1977 vintage, founded Le Beau Domaine (i.e. The Beautiful Estate) in 2017 in Saint-Jean-des-Mauvrets, south of Angers. Having grown up in the region, he worked for the Mosse family for a season in 2000, when they started making wine. It was then at Domaine de Rochambeau that he discovered a real interest in the vine and its natural cycle, a major revelation...
