Second vintage for this cuvée, featuring notes of soft spices, especially pink peppercorn, alongside red berries like raspberry and redcurrant. On the palate: lovely tannic texture, precise and lengthy finish, with remarkable finesse. Promising aging potential.
100% Pineau d'Aunis from 50-year-old vines from a massal selection, farmed organically and planted right in the bed of the Cher River, just 200 meters from the water on alluvial and clay soils. Harvested by hand. Vinification: full destemming, 8 days of maceration without forcing the extraction, soft pressing, and over a year of aging in barrels, with 5% new oak. Bottled at the estate in the last week of November 2023 with a low dose of sulfur.
Valentin Desloges, child of the 1993 vintage, took the right decision by continuing the family line of winegrowers and founding Les Quatre Piliers estate. After high-school in Amboise and a BTS viti-oeno in Bordeaux, Valentin participated in the vinification of Château Mangot, then left in 2015 for 6 months in New Zealand, where he deepened his comprehension of Sauvignon.
