Rhône Valley
A very fruity nose, with notes of strawberry, raspberry, and cherry. Great drinkability and smoothness, a juice full of freshness. The palate is soft and easy-drinking, bursting with crushed red fruit aromas and a subtle peppery finish... A thirst quencher, obviously.
A blend of 80% Grenache Noir and 20% Carignan, sourced from the Domaine's young vines, aged 3 to 7 years, cultivated organically on the lieux-dits of Les Granges and Les Garrigues in the village of Cairanne. Manual harvesting is employed. Natural vinification includes separate maceration of the two grape varieties for around ten days, followed by gentle pressing and 8 months of aging in concrete tanks. Bottled at the Domaine without fining or filtration, with just a micro-dose of sulfur at bottling.
Marcel Richaud, undisputed leader of natural wine in the Rhône, is based in Cairanne, an emblematic appellation where his estate is the emblematic estate of the appellation!
