Rhône Valley
Bulles de Rouge - 2022 - Philippe Viret
Domaine Viret
An atypical sparkling red wine, with notes of blackberry and soft spices. Clean on the palate, without sweetness, the abundant bubbles reveal a light tannin on the finish. A lovely discovery.

Grenache, Caladoc, Muscat, Mondeuse and Sciaccarello from vines averaging 40 years old, planted on pebbles and clay-limestone soils, grown using cosmoculture, the method developed by the estate. Harvested by hand. Vinification: 36 hours of pre-fermentary cold maceration, aging on fine lees in stainless steel vats, blending of these wines that have completed their fermentation, gasification (Charmat method as for Prosecco). Bottled at the estate without fining or filtration, just a micro-dose of sulphur.

Everything here is exceptional: a cathedral cellar, built according to the geometry of the golden ratio,...
