A red wine made for the table… before twirling onto the dance floor like a true Gypsy Queen! Nose of strawberry compote, cubeb pepper, and a hint of licorice. A mature profile with kirsch-like aromatics, beautiful texture, and well-integrated tannins.
Lledoner Pelut, a Catalan mutation of Grenache Noir, sourced from Philippe Mourat, a grower in Calce. Sixty-year-old organically farmed vines on limestone soils, hand-harvested. Naturally vinified by the Gypsy Queen collective—five winemaker friends from Roussillon, including Perrine! 100% whole clusters, gentle punch-downs, then pressing, with fermentation finishing and aging in a 12-hl sandstone amphora for 9 months. Bottled without fining, filtration, or any added sulfur.
Perinne Loeuilleux is a new winemaker that was absolutely not destined for a career in the vineyard. An agricultural engineer from the Pas-de-Calais region of France, she raised with "big red wine" by her parents; it was her encounter with a Burgundian guy that put her head and palate straight into wine!
