Vrede Pinot Noir - 2017 - Hannes Storm
Storm Wines
With a few years of bottle aging, the aromatics finally unfold, revealing notes of raspberry, cocoa, rose, and undergrowth. The palate is rich, deep, and juicy, in a style reminiscent of great Burgundy. Feels like a Grand Cru!

100% Pinot Noir, from vines planted on Bokkeveld soils (poor soils, rich in clay and stones) and farmed using sustainable agriculture in the Hemel-en-Aarde region. The Vrede parcel faces north. The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed, and cold macerated 10 days in open vats, followed by fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and 11 months of maturation in French oak barrels with 28% new oak. Neither filtered nor fined, with sensible use of sulphites.
