Monbazar - 2021 - Vincent Alexis
Château Barouillet
Monbazar… Doesn’t that sound a bit like Monbazillac?! Notes of candied fruit, beeswax, honey, and a hint of white flowers. The palate is beautifully balanced between richness, sweetness, and finesse, with a round profile, a silky texture, and an exceptionally long finish.

Blend of 50% Chenin, 30% Sémillon, 20% Muscadelle, from biodynamically farmed vines on clay-limestone soils, with a selection from the finest, highest limestone slopes. Late manual harvest of botrytized grapes, gentle 5-hour press, 12-month fermentation flollowing the seasons, no new oak. Bottled without fortification, with natural balance of alcohol and sugar, light filtration, and sensible use of sulfites. Declassified as Vin de France due to falling below the 12% ABV required for AOP Monbazillac.
