In 1990, the Trapet family decided to revive the art and savoir-faire of grape spirit distillation. They decided use only the finest Marc de Chambertin in this venture, for its unique spirit and essence, so emblematic of Burgundy. The distillation of the marc takes place in January following the year of the harvest, and is entirely carried out using traditional methods.

Jean-Louis Trapet is part of a select circle of the 10 greatest vignerons of the Côte de Nuits. His family estate, founded by his great-grandfather in 1870, is composed of around 15 hectares of the most beautiful parcels around Gevrey.
