Outer Limits - 2018 - Hardy Wallace
Dirty and Rowdy
Very Bandol-like in style, this cuvée is named Outer Limits because it is completely unlike any other wine made by the estate! The nose is deep and concentrated, the palate velvety and suave, with silky tannins.

100% Mourvèdre from 100-year-old vines, own-rooted / ungrafted, farmed organically, without irrigation, and planted on limestone and granite soils. This is the same plot as the Enz Old Vineyard, but harvested four weeks later when the vines have lost their leaves. Located in the very small appellation of Lime Kiln Valley in San Benito County. Vinification: whole bunch maceration, followed by maturation in barrels that have seen 8 to 14 wines. Unfiltered and unfined, with just a microdose of sulphur at bottling.
