Station Vineyard - 2017 - Steve Kistler
Occidental
One could easily mistake this for a Grand Cru from Burgundy, but no—this is truly a New World wine! The magic of Steve Kistler shines through, with notes of red fruit, smoke, forest floor, and a hint of oak. Elegant on the palate with a long finish. Decanting recommended.

100% Pinot Noir, from vines farmed using sustainable agriculture, very close to organic, with the goal maintaining a natural balance in the vineyard. The Station Vineyard site is the first to be harvested each year. Vinification: the maceration is long and the fermentation is slow thanks to the indigenous yeasts used. A unique characteristic of the Occidental winery is the absence of a press, meaning the estate does not press its marcs – thus, all of the estate’s cuvées are born of free-run juice alone. Matured in French oak barrels, a quarter of which are new. Neither filtered nor fined, with sensible use of sulphites.
