A Castillon wine, from parcels situated three vine rows away from the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru vineyards. A blended cuvée, composed of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, from clay-limestone soils. Louis specializes in growing Merlot. He only keeps the lowest bunches on the vine, ripening and harvesting them at the same time. The Mitjavile signature is also a specific approach to ageing, with barrels made and toasted especially for him.
