Les Forts de Latour - 2017 - Hélène Génin
Château Latour
Candied fruits, leather, cigar box, and wood aromas. The palate is powerful, deep, dense, and full-bodied, phenomenal length. A bottle to wait patiently for, best opened after some time in your cellar, followed by mandatory decanting. The result is sublime in the glass after a few years.

The second wine of Château Latour is a blend from biodynamically farmed vines, hand-harvested and planted in scattered parcels, showcasing very diverse terroirs. Notable plots include Piñada, Petit Batailley, and Saint-Anne, which have been part of the estate for over a century (with vines around 40 years old), alongside 7 hectares in the commune of Artigues. The blend is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, with 25 to 30% Merlot, featuring gentle vinification and aging in barrels with 50 to 60% new oak, depending on the vintage.
